Marji meets the expetations because she has to wear the veil every day. She meets the expectations, but she resists them at the same time because she was used to living in Iran when they did not have to follow these religious rules. She is a very relgious person and wears the veil but doesnt like too. "I really didnt know what to think about the veil. Deep down i was very relgious but as a family we were very modern and avant-garde."
Women are expected to wear the veil at all times when they are infront of people that they don't live with. (public).
